Procaine hydrochloride is a local anesthetic that can temporarily block the conduction of nerve fibers to produce anesthetic effects. It has strong efficacy, low toxicity, and no addictive property. However, it has weak penetrating power on the skin and mucous membranes, making it unsuitable for surface anesthesia. Clinically, it is mainly used for infiltration anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, and conduction anesthesia.
