General description

N, n-dimethylformamide (DMF) is commonly used as a solvent for various organic reactions. DMF is an effective solvent for separating chlorophyll from plant tissues. [1] It is a widely used reagent in organic synthesis. It functions in many reactions such as solvents, dehydrating agents, reducing agents and catalysts. It is a multifunctional building block for the synthesis of compounds with O,-CO,-NMe 2,-CONMe 2,-Me,-CHO as functional groups.
